Announcement!
I sent an email to the person who runs this page. I've been checking several times a day for the past several days. I know - it's quite obsessive. I am pleased to inform you that we've been added.

So everyone has the same problem?
That is, we are in between sizes.
Received my yarn today. I will start swatching with my Size 5 Addi Natura needles and see how things go.

Now what?
I bought yarn today, Wool cotton by Rowan. I really like this yarn because the wool helps to keep the shape of the garmets but it still has the cotton fell. Whenever I make something with all cotton it grows.
Here is my problem though. The sizing on the pattern is wierd. I know others have voiced this concern but now that I need to start I really need to figure this out. Here is my thinking.
I'm a 36 so know way am I gonna fit in the small 33 3/4 size. and while were at it who came up with 33 3/4 ? But... If I make the next size 39 It will gap out in the front, and that's really not a good look. So my idea is to alter the gauge to get a larger size small. My yarn has a slightly larger recommended gauge and if I change the needle size...... well what do you guys think ?
Obviously, some serious swatching is in order.

My yarn arrived today
My SWTC Bamboo arrived today. I chose the Sahara colourway but wasn't sure what to expect as colours don't seem to display very true on my monitor. It's actually a combination of pale greens and beiges a little - or maybe a lot - reminiscient of army desert camouflage colours - not sure yet whether that is a good or bad thing but maybe the name Sahara was a bit of a clue! The yarn seems quite soft and drapey. I will start swatching just as soon as I have finished the ties (v. boring) on the Vogue wrapover top I am currently working on. Hopefully a couple of evenings should see them done.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. We have had a cold, wet day and are hoping the sun will shine tomorrow.

Well, I finally ordered my yarn
I ordered the Turquoise color from kpixie. Turquoise is the color of the one shown on the cover of IK.
I've been searching blogs too see if anyone has knitted this thing up yet. Some of your blogs turned up - LOL! Here are some others. Now, I apologize in advance for blogs around the world. But who needs to understand the language when there are pretty pictures?
This lady has completed hers. Sorry for the Chinese. Gorgeous!
Sprechen die deutsche? - On the blocking board.
Norwegian, I think - Pretty color choice. Love it!
I'll ignore this blog's comments that call this tank fugly. Booooo...

Starting again and again
Hi! I'm Jen and I'm just starting (for the 3rd time) this adorable tank in the large size. Here's a word to the wise. If you're going to make the biggest size, move up to a 32" needle. That way you can tell if the stitches are twisted when you connect the first row.....
I'm using Tahki SC Classic Cotton in a lovely Lilac color.

Froggable Heatwave
Hi all! Thanks Betty for setting up this Knitalong. I hope I can...well, keep knitting along!
I need to make a decision - I started the Heatwave tank from Southwest Trading Company Bamboo yarn, which my LYS was clearing out. But I hadn't gotten far before the summer IK featured the Lotus Blossom tank, which looks like way more fun. I'll probably just start the Lotus Blossom tank and see if the lace shows up well enough, then make a decision.
Otherwise, I like the colour and feel of the yarn. It's a bit crisp, but I'm told it will soften up when washed.

Hi!
I am so looking forward to making this top. Thank you for setting it up, Betty.
This is my first KAL. I never thought I would join one, but for once someone else wants to knit the same thing at the same time as me. It will be fun to see how they all turn out. I don't have the yarn for it yet but I found SWTC Bamboo on sale here
http://www.fullthreadahead.com/cgi-bin/yarn.shop/st_main.html?p_catid=61
Has anyone seen a better price?
The sizing on the pattern is a bit strange - quite a gap between the smallest and next size up(33.5->39) and of course I am right in between. I am guessing the weird sizing is so that there are the right multiples for the lace pattern. I am not sure what to do about that at the moment. Anyone else having a the same problem?

Welcome to the Lotus Blossom Tank KAL!
Welcome! You are here because you saw the cover of Interweave Knits Summer 2006 and said "I love that tank! I have to knit it!"
I don't think there is a reason to put a sign-up deadline on this KAL, unless someone can tell me why I should.
